What a way to end my 2018 wedding season!! Everything about this Downtown Baltimore Ampersea Wedding was so well planned from each location to every detail in between. Kara and Matt wanted a different wedding so they planned out a super fun wedding that took place between 5 different through the day. We began the wedding day by photographing details and getting ready portraits at the Why Hotel in downtown Baltimore. Kara chose the Why Hotel because it’s not your typical hotel. This hotel is super modern with white walls, a ton of natural light, and a rooftop balcony that overlooks Baltimore! She knew this hotel’s modern look would be great for photos. *Wedding planning tip: If you’re getting ready in a hotel, keep this in mind!* Once it was time for Kara and her dad’s first look, we headed downstairs and had their first look right in front of the hotel then headed to the church.
This church was the most gorgeous church that I’ve been to in the US. Inside looked like a cathedral like in Europe! Definitely would not mind photographing another wedding there. Matt and Kara had a bubble exit then we headed to Fort McHenry. Since their ceremony was indoor and their reception was by the water they wanted portraits with trees and greenery! After bridal party and just married portraits we headed to Tide Point to hop on a water taxi to take us to the reception venue. While we waited for the water taxi we were able to take more portraits with water in the background. We then all hoped on the water taxi and headed to Ampersea. This was super fun! I even had a blast with a camera in my hands so I know the bridal party enjoyed it as well.
Once we docked, the bridal party had the most epic dances for introductions I’ve ever seen. One couple looked like they belonged on dancing with the stars while another couple did a cart wheel and jumped into each others arms! It was incredible!
Matt and Kara shared their first dance on the pier and we all headed inside after toasts. With as many locations we had, I’m in awe at how well everything was planned out. The only hiccup we almost had was the limo that was supposed to take the girls to the church wouldn’t start! Luckily by the time they needed to hop inside the driver as able to get it started again. Whew close call!
Thank you Matt and Kara for choosing me to capture your wedding day. You both were incredible to work with!
Special thank you to all vendors who made Matt and Kara’s wedding so special.
