Kathryn and Randy’s Jones Point Park Engagement Session

July 24, 2019

Kathryn and Randy’s Jones Point Park Engagement Session
Nothing like the weather forecast calling for crazy thunderstorms with hail all day! The morning of Kathryn and Randy’s Jones Point Park Engagement Session was gloomy and spitting rain with no end in sight. In fact, the whole day was supposed to be rainy and gloomy with thunderstorms starting at 3pm. I asked Kathryn if she wanted to change dates but with her busy work schedule, we decided to go for it. We figured we would just make it work! Jones Point Park has coverage because of the bridge so I figured if it was poring rain we could at least have the session under the bridge and stay dry.

Thunderstorms to the Perfect Day
We decided to meet at 2pm since the thunderstorms were supposed to roll in at 3pm and that’s the earliest we could get there. To our surprise, 2pm was filled with sunshine! The sun came out of nowhere and made for the most gorgeous day for engagement session portraits. I felt like I was punked. Did I even look at the right forecast? The weather was the complete opposite of what it was calling for. I couldn’t have been more happy!

Getting to know Kathryn + Randy during their engagement session was so fun! They are the cutest couple and I’m so excited to see Kathryn on her wedding day. She is going to make one gorgeous bride and I can’t believe how photogenic she is!! She even showed me what her dress look like and oh my goodness I can’t wait!

See a few of my favorite images of their sunny engagement session below. Be sure to come back and see their wedding blog from their wedding this coming November!
