From the very first phone call I had with Hope, I felt like I made a friend. We immediately clicked and I was hoping that she and Brandon would book. Within one hour of our call she told me she wanted to move forward. I couldn’t wait to photograph her Rustic Brandy Hill Farm Fall Wedding!

Shortly after booking, I found out that I was pregnant and was due about 2 weeks before her wedding. To say I was devastated that I couldn’t be there was an understatement. I remember having to call her and tell her the news. She was so excited for me but also devastated that I wouldn’t be able to be there. I had a backup plan in place so she didn’t feel like I just dropped her but it was still hard. The hardest part was knowing we had such a great connection right off the bat and she made me feel so valued. She said she searched forever to find a photographer whose style was light, airy, and romantic like mine. That’s music to a photographers ears.

Well fast forward to August. I had my baby a month early!! I was totally ready to photograph Hope and Brandon’s wedding! Ally was 6 weeks old and as much as I missed my baby, it was amazing to get out of the house and photograph a wedding!! It’s so funny how you plan life and sometimes it doesn’t go the way you plan, sometimes it does, sometimes life throws a curveball – like in this case. I’m learning this over and over especially with COVID-19 now. Learning to be happy and make the most out of all situations even though some are incredibly difficult.

Hang in there everyone! We will make the most out of 2020 together! <3
