Hello! My name is Sarah Botta and I am a Wedding and Portrait Photographer. The feel of a 4x6 image in my hands reliving captured memories is what lead to me falling in love with photography when I was only 6! It wasn’t until after I got married in 2013, I turned my love for photography into a business. My style is romantic, elegant, classic portraits full of beautiful light. When I’m not photographing anything you can find me enjoying a cup of coffee either from a local coffee shoppe or on the couch with my husband and daughter, exploring the great outdoors, swimming or skiing. I’m known for smiling a lot, being adventurous, enjoying and adapting to any situation. I adore working with adventurous, head-over-heels in love couples and can’t wait to tell your story.
On my blog I share my recent work, wedding planning tips, as well as stories from my latest travels and adventures.

When Clarise and I first spoke on the phone about her wedding, she told me she and Michael were having a Tropical Hawaiian Wedding in Virginia. I instantly loved that idea and then when she told me her inspiration came from her and Michael having lived in Hawaii for 4 years prior to moving back to Virginia. I love when couples have special meanings behind what they choose to do at their wedding!
With the huge coordination and planning help of Louise from Marriott Ranch, along with the help of Clarise’s sisters, family, and friends, this wedding was going to be magical and it was nothing short of perfection!! Every detail was so well thought out, planned, and executed to perfection. Details were everywhere including hibiscus in the ice cubes, Hawaiian kona coffee, and even pineapple soap in the bathroom!!
Michael and Clarise said, “I do” on September 1, 2018 at Marriott Ranch in Hume, Virginia. During their first look, the bridesmaids were in the upstairs of the manor videoing the first look with their phone. I happened to see it on Facebook and it was so stinkin’ cute!! They were all in tears. It’s rare that I get to see fun videos like that from other parts of the wedding day so that was really fun to see.
The day was very cloudy and we heard a lot of thunder. Everyone walked down the aisle with umbrellas and after the ceremony it started to spit rain. We all thought it was going to start pouring rain but instead it just kept spitting. This made for some gorgeous portrait time and Clarise and Michael were such great sports and didn’t mind the rain at all!
Their reception was filled with laughter, dancing, glow sticks, and a little bit of cake smashed into Mike’s ear. It was an incredibly fun wedding. I even happened to see a few employees from Marriott Ranch dancing. The DJ really got the dance party started and kept the party going.
Thank you Clarise and Michael, from the bottom of my heart, for choosing me to capture your wedding. It was so much fun and I’m honored to have been part of it.
Special thank you to all vendors who made Clarise and Michael’s wedding so special.
