Hello! My name is Sarah Botta and I am a Wedding and Portrait Photographer. The feel of a 4x6 image in my hands reliving captured memories is what lead to me falling in love with photography when I was only 6! It wasn’t until after I got married in 2013, I turned my love for photography into a business. My style is romantic, elegant, classic portraits full of beautiful light. When I’m not photographing anything you can find me enjoying a cup of coffee either from a local coffee shoppe or on the couch with my husband and daughter, exploring the great outdoors, swimming or skiing. I’m known for smiling a lot, being adventurous, enjoying and adapting to any situation. I adore working with adventurous, head-over-heels in love couples and can’t wait to tell your story.
On my blog I share my recent work, wedding planning tips, as well as stories from my latest travels and adventures.

This past week/ weekend, I was on vacation with my family in Corolla Beach, NC. We booked the same house we rented 4 years ago!! The reason we did this is because 4 years ago, my life and my husband’s life was very different. 4 years ago, we had to leave after just 3 days so Danny could get back to work. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do – leaving my family, the beach house, and vacation after just 3 days. We wanted to go back to the same house we loved so much and relive the vacation we felt we missed out on. Plus we all love the beach, especially OBX!
Throughout the week we caught up on sleep, relaxation, and family time. We played lots of games, ate some great food, watched the new Jurassic World, went to the Wright brothers museum, played mini golf, and ate a pizza, of course.
We even got our family photos taken!! I’m so thankful for the incredible photography community and finding a photographer to swap family sessions with while on vacation! Katherine Elizabeth Photography and I just so happened to be vacationing in the same area, the same week, just a 5 minute walk from each other. We met each other on the beach for the first time and had a lot of fun taking each other’s family photos.
Yesterday, I visited a new wedding venue The Riverview at Occoquan, met some awesome wedding vendors like Liberty Baking Company, ate Great Blue Heron’s catering food, and got to meet one of my 2019 brides in person!! What a fun weekend/ past week.
A few take aways/ lessons learned from this weeks events:
– Don’t fall asleep on the beach on a windy day. You’ll feel super comfortable because of the breeze and wake up with a nice burn.
– Doing the “casual” slow walking pose while looking and laughing at each other is a lot harder than it looks.

I hope you all have an amazing week and stay tuned for Instastories throughout the week!
