Hello! My name is Sarah Botta and I am a Wedding and Portrait Photographer. The feel of a 4x6 image in my hands reliving captured memories is what lead to me falling in love with photography when I was only 6! It wasn’t until after I got married in 2013, I turned my love for photography into a business. My style is romantic, elegant, classic portraits full of beautiful light. When I’m not photographing anything you can find me enjoying a cup of coffee either from a local coffee shoppe or on the couch with my husband and daughter, exploring the great outdoors, swimming or skiing. I’m known for smiling a lot, being adventurous, enjoying and adapting to any situation. I adore working with adventurous, head-over-heels in love couples and can’t wait to tell your story.
On my blog I share my recent work, wedding planning tips, as well as stories from my latest travels and adventures.

Hey friends! This is my first ever “Weekend Roundup” where I recap all the fun from the weekend. If you missed any Instastories, sneak peeks, etc. no worries, you’ll see everything here all in one place!
This weekend started out on Thursday for me! I drove to Charlottesville to photograph Brittany and Kevin’s wedding at Trump Winery! I worked with wedding planner Jessica Thompson (Beautifully Divine Events) for the first time and also worked with Kristen Mayberry for the first time who will be second shooting with me for most of my 2018 weddings! Brittany and Kevin’s wedding day was perfect! After having so much rain the past few weekends it was nice not having to factor the weather in at all. Brittany and Kevin said I do at the little church on the Trump Winery property. The church was the smallest, cutest, most beautiful church I’ve ever seen. After they said “I do” and walked out of the church, there were so many tears of joy between friends and family. Later on when Brittany danced to “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman, with her Dad, I just about lost it. That song is powerful!!
That night I stayed in Charlottesville and made my way to Essex, Maryland the next day. I photographed Sarah and Jon’s engagement session starting at their new home they just closed on Tuesday!! We then made our way to a private island only accessible my boat and jet ski. Ya’ll this made my Friday. It was so much fun and so beautiful. Sarah and I even got to talk a little about wedding plans on the way back! I even got to take a few photos of Sarah and Jon on the boat which is something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile! Engagement photos on a boat? Check!
Saturday morning I photographed little miss Luna who is now 6 months old! We had her milestone session in my studio and she just loved her momma’s pearl necklace!
Saturday evening I drove to Towson, Maryland and met with Kara and Matt. We met at Hampton Mansion which is a huge, gorgeous mansion right in Towson. Not only is the house itself amazing but the view and the property are to die for! Kara and Matt brought their two dogs along for their engagement session (which are super cute, see below) with the help of Kara’s mom and sister.
A few take aways/ lessons learned from this weeks events:
– I could totally move to Essex and live by the water. I had seen all the water on a map before so it was really neat being in the water!
– Never will I ever drive to Essex, or up North, on a Friday evening again. A 1.5 hour drive took almost 4 hours!
– Both engagement sessions were photographed with me barefoot AND the brides barefoot. They didn’t want to wear shoes for two different reasons and it was all good with me! #imalwaysbarefoot
Crazy weekend, right? I caught up on some much needed relaxation and husband time on Sunday. Tomorrow, I’ll be kicking the week off with a studio newborn session!
