I’m a bit behind for my weekend updates so this week you’re getting two weekend updates! One from last weekend and another from this past weekend.
Last weekend, Andrew and Vanessa tied the knot on May 30th at Marriott Ranch and had the greatest idea! Since most of their guests were from out of town, why limit their wedding celebration to just 1 day? Andrew and Vanessa decided to have a small wedding ceremony and then have a fun filled reception the next day! They entertained their guests with an ice cream truck, skeet shooting, cupcakes, and fun games! What a fun way to celebrate getting married.
Then I was able to photograph Katie and Steven’s engagement session. Thank goodness their schedules were pretty flexible because one moment the weather says it’s all sunshine and perfect weather the next there is a massive thunderstorm that’s going to roll in right when your engagement session begins. Sure enough, right when we were wrapping up the session a storm was about to hit. We hugged goodbye and the storm was awful!! Rain was sideways, it started to hail, my flashers were on because I was barely moving since I couldn’t see. The next morning I saw 6 people were injured where we took the photos!! What?! Glad we were able to capture their engagement session before that craziness began! Sneak peeks of their engagement session coming soon!
A few take aways/ lessons learned from this weekends events:
– I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!! Well, maybe not me since I can’t eat ice cream but having Captain Cookie was such a huge hit with all of their guests! How can you not get exited when you see a big, bright yellow truck of happiness pull up to serve you ice cream and cookies?!
– Don’t take storms lightly! Especially when you’re surrounded by trees!
Special thanks to the vendors who made Andrew and Vanessa’s wedding so special!
