Hello! My name is Sarah Botta and I am a Wedding and Portrait Photographer. The feel of a 4x6 image in my hands reliving captured memories is what lead to me falling in love with photography when I was only 6! It wasn’t until after I got married in 2013, I turned my love for photography into a business. My style is romantic, elegant, classic portraits full of beautiful light. When I’m not photographing anything you can find me enjoying a cup of coffee either from a local coffee shoppe or on the couch with my husband and daughter, exploring the great outdoors, swimming or skiing. I’m known for smiling a lot, being adventurous, enjoying and adapting to any situation. I adore working with adventurous, head-over-heels in love couples and can’t wait to tell your story.
On my blog I share my recent work, wedding planning tips, as well as stories from my latest travels and adventures.

When couples book their wedding/ engagement session with me, one of the first questions I used to receive is what should I wear? This blog post is all about that question, “What to Wear for your Engagement Session.” When I say I used to hear this question a lot I mean I don’t hear it anymore! Why? Now when couples book their wedding with me, I gift them with what some brides refer to as the “bridal bible.” This bridal bible goes over everything, in detail, from what to wear, times of the engagement session, and goes over everything you need to know for the day of your wedding. Timelines, what to have ready for me as your photographer, family lists, etc. In this post, I’m giving you just a little bit of the what to wear information in my bridal bible.
GET DRESSY. Have you ever wanted to buy a special dress or you already have a special dress you had to have with nowhere to where it? No is your chance! Dress it up! There is no such thing as too dressy when it comes to your engagement session. Long, flowy dresses, and skirts look amazing on camera because they bring movement in your portraits and they look so flattering. I recommend avoiding pants or shorts and saying yes to the dress.
LAYERS. Long pants and closed shoes are so sophisticated and masculine for men. Think about the all the awards shows you see on TV. The men are always wearing long pants and closed shoes. You can even take it up a notch and have your man wear a suit or add some layers like a vest, or sweater.
COORDINATE. When choosing outfits, keep in mind your outfits will look most cohesive when the color palettes coordinate and not necessarily match. Aim to wear a different dominant color, staying within the same color palette. Brides, find your dress first and then coordinate his outfit with yours.
This is just a small portion of the engagement session style guide. I hope this post helped inspire you and you’re ready to find the perfect coordinating outfits for your engagement session.
