Will you Edit my Newborn?

A question I hear fairly often at my newborn sessions is will you edit my newborn or can you edit my newborn? This question is usually followed by “he was born sunny side up or she scratched her face on the way over.” My answer is “Yes! Of course I edit your newborn!” Parents sigh a bit of relief when I answer this question. Parents have told me that when they see images of newborns with flawless skin, no bumps, flakes, or no sunny side up bruises, and they thought the newborn just came out that way. The truth is 9 times out of 10 newborns require quite a bit of editing. Newborns can be jaundice, have little pimples, or love to scratch their face during their newborn session. In my newborn images, I want newborns to look as perfect, simple, and innocent as possible. Everything I do in my sessions and in my editing keeps the focus on the baby. This is why I edit out those little pimples, jaundice, and scratches. Some newborns only have these features their first few days so parents don’t necessarily want to have photos taken and remember something that was only visible for a few days. Parents want to remember their tiny, innocent perfect little human.
