W Hotel Washington DC Wedding

filed under

Last year, Christine and Patrick officially tied the knot. This year, they finally go to celebrate their W Hotel Washington DC Wedding with all of their friends and family. It was no easy path leading up to their wedding day. Every week seemed like DC was rolling out new rules which made wedding planning extremely difficult, frustrating, and stressful. Even the month of Christine and Patrick’s wedding, DC announced everyone had to wear masks indoors regardless of vaccination status. Luckily, Christine didn’t have to wear a masking while walking down the aisle!

Wedding Day

The day of Christine and Patrick’s Wedding, the weather didn’t know what it wanted. One moment it looked dreary but like it was going to clear up, the next it’s pouring down rain while thundering, and the next it’s so hot and humid you feel like you’re swimming. In the middle of the ceremony, there was one extremely loud thunder boom. I don’t know if Christine heard it or not but I looked straight over at her to make sure she wasn’t bawling. She was so frustrated with the weather just like anyone would be after putting so much time and effort into a day and the weather making things rather difficult. However, even with rainy dreary days, I can work magic!

Once I delivered Christine’s images, she was blown away. She sent several emails letting me know how much she loved them and how the photos looked better than she ever imagined.

One really cool thing about their wedding was the number of guests I knew and had photographed!! All her friends that went to JMU had told each other about me and through the last few years I’ve gotten to photograph everything from engagement to newborn!

I have loved getting to know Christine and Patrick over the last few years and I’m honestly a little sad it’s over! I’m happy I’m able to follow along through social media and keep in touch with my couples. I wish these two all the best and a lifetime of happiness.
