Rowshaun and Manita decided that they wanted to throw a big party in celebration of becoming parents. Their family and closest friends all gathered together for such a joyous baby shower. Towards the end of their shower, they announced the name of their baby, Charles Henry who is named after Rowshaun’s father. His father stood up with joy and raised up his arms in celebration it was such a sweet moment!!
This blog wouldn’t be complete without Karen’s input! I asked Karen to describe how the event all came together. From the initial theme to the execution, not to mention the hiccups COVID caused along the way. At the time of this baby shower in the State of Virginia, we could only have 10 people for indoor events. With Manita’s due date quickly approaching and no time to reschedule such a luxurious baby shower, Karen thought on her feet and the end result possibly even better than Plan A!
“When Rowshaun, Manita and I had our first phone call to discuss their baby shower, I could feel their excitement! Their journey to becoming parents had been a hard one, so they wanted to be sure that their celebration was momentous. Incredible design was a huge part of their wish-list, but they allowed me the creativity to come up with the theme, color palette and wow-factor elements, which was so fun for me! I knew Rosanna had a large architectural crescent moon piece, so “Over the moon in love” was so easy to come up with, and her gorgeous antique cribs were perfect for holding gifts. I came up with the idea of baby’s breath “clouds” throughout the space, but when we had to transition from an indoor event to a tent, due to Covid restrictions, the clear top tent with an open view of the sky paired with the twinkle lights overhead tied the theme together even better than our Plan A. We used shades of blue and silver on the tabletops and kept the florals neutral by sticking to white ranunculus and anemones. The celebration was stunning, however the most beautiful element of the day was the love of family and friends surrounding Rowshaun and Manita and their precious baby boy.”
