This past fall I had the opportunity to photograph Jenna and her family. Jenna is a fellow wedding photographer who I met when she second shot for me in 2019. She had recently moved from NY to Northern Virginia then moved again near me in Winchester. We got to chatting one day and she mentioned wanting family photos. I don’t believe it was until we were on location for their family session where she mentioned that she and her family had never had family photos taken. Not only had they never had family photos taken, her and her husband hadn’t had the opportunity to take any photos of them since their wedding 11 years ago! I was in complete shock then all the sudden felt like these photos had to be the best images I’ve ever taken in my life because they were about to celebrate 12 years of marriage and they have 3 children together!! That’s a lot of life, family, and memories together that I needed to capture in their Fall Family Session.
At this Fall Family Session 11 Years Later, we photographed them at different locations in the Virginia Arboretum. We lucked out with weather for like a week. It was November and the warmest most beautiful stretch of weather so we both knew we needed to take advantage before it got cold. I never know what to expect when photographing children. I kinda assumed since she had 3 boys they would be a little wild just being boys. To my surprise, they were the sweetest, most polite, well behaved kids I’ve ever met. They were so happy and such a joy to be around! The boys told me how excited they were to have their photos taken and for never having their family photos taken before, they were all extremely photogenic! This session was so much fun capturing and I was so honored to photograph their Fall Family Session 11 Years Later.

This sunny fall wedding at Rust Manor House in Leesburg was exactly that kind of day—calm, beautiful, and filled with so much heart. Rust Manor House was glowing in the autumn light, with crisp air, golden leaves, and […]

This tree instantly caught everyone’s attention, with clients asking if it was intentionally chosen for the sessions—and it really did feel meant to be. We photographed it at peak color, and just one week later the leaves […]

Starting the day photographing Meridith and Andrew’s engagement session in Winchester couldn’t have been more perfect. As the sun rose, a soft layer of fog rolled in, creating the dreamiest atmosphere and the most beautifully moody images. After having to reschedule because of rain, we decided to embrace the fog—and it added so much character […]
