The Carlyle House in Old Town Alexandria is such a gorgeous venue for intimate weddings. Cassie and Jimmy said “I Do” during their Intimate Carlyle House Wedding on May 15th. They were surrounded by their closest family and friends in the back garden on a gorgeous Spring day. For those who weren’t able to attend because of COVID, they were able to view these two joining as one on their phones.
Cassie said she always wanted a small more intimate wedding but until COVID happened it was kind of an odd thing to do. However, now with COVID, intimate weddings seem to be the “popular” thing to do. I’m happy Cassie and Jimmy were able to have their Intimate Carlyle House Wedding, the wedding of their dreams, even in the midst of COVID and a slight scare of a gas shortage.
After Cassie and Jimmy got married, we walked around Old Town Alexandria for portraits. Old Town was extremely crowded. It seemed to be the first gorgeous day of the year and it was the first day after the CDC announced that fully vaccinated people didn’t have to wear masks. I think everyone was outdoors and just really enjoying the gorgeous day and the happy news.
Cassie and Jimmy wanted a few portraits by the water so we started heading that way. I had a slight hunch that walking down King Street would be interesting since it was jam packed but it was a better option than walking on cobblestone. As Cassie and Jimmy started walking down the street, eyes started catching them and before we knew it everyone on the street were looking and clapping and cheering!! It was the neatest and most fun thing! It was like Cassie and Jimmy were a parade. What a memorable moment for them.
We walked to the water and took portraits. You can not tell by the images but it was extremely crowded which meant I got really creative with the portraits angles. We ended our time together by taking a few more portraits in front of the water fountain which ended up on Politico’s website a few days later as they announced Cassie and Jimmy’s marriage.
Congratulations Cassie and Jimmy and thank you for choosing me to capture your special day!

The charm of Rust Manor House set the stage for a wedding that was classic, elegant, and modern. Nestled in the peaceful embrace of a park, this venue provided a secluded, nature-inspired backdrop that perfectly matched the bride’s vision. She fell in love with the calmness of the surroundings, the sounds of birds chirping, and […]

Scott and Pilar privately exchanged their vows in a courthouse wedding in Alexandria, creating an intimate start to their journey together. A few weeks later, we met on […]

What do you do when the weather forecast teases rain on your wedding day, but the skies stay dry—right up until the ceremony? If you’re Daisy and Adam, you embrace the moment! As they walked down the aisle at their outdoor ceremony, the rain finally made an appearance. But as Adam so perfectly said during […]
Photographing the Usman Fall Morven Park Family Session again this year was such a treat! We met at the beautiful Morven Park on a stunning fall day in October, with Virginia’s leaves showing off their peak colors. The golden hues, vibrant reds, and deep oranges created the perfect backdrop for this fun and lively session. […]
There’s something so special about capturing a family on the brink of a new chapter. This sweet family of three is soon welcoming their second little girl, and I couldn’t be more excited for them! Ava, their spunky two-year-old, had the best time running around and playing during the session, and her joyful energy brought […]
