Instagram is fantastic for so many reasons. Just like brides, wedding professionals also search through Instagram hashtags for local vendors. I had searched high and low to find a wedding planner whose style and vision were similar to mine and I came across Karen Ducketts Events. I was blown away by her style: classic, romantic, and simply stunning. I reached out to her and shortly after we met for coffee. I immediately liked her and as we spoke, I knew we were going to be friends. We decided to do a mini styled shoot focused on cake and invitations to get to know how we worked together. What was supposed to be a 1 day thing turned into a 3 Day Blush Styled Shoot Collaboration!! 3 days!! We both had so much fun we knew we had to do another day.
Day one of our 3 Day Blush Styled Shoot Collaboration began with the cake. I wanted to photograph cuts of cake and cakelets. Jiscoo Cake Design baked and created 3 mini cakes and a simple cake we could cut into pieces for styling. I was blown away by Jiscoo’s talent and creativity! Before we knew it, half the day was over. Karen and I had so much fun styling and chatting we joked about how fun it would be to do it again…the next day! Neither of us had anything going on so we got together again for day 2!
Day two of our 3 Day Blush Styled Shoot Collaboration focused on invitations by Morgan Riley Design. We played with florals, fruit, several invitation suites and before we knew it the day was almost over again!! Because we had so many gorgeous florals from The Garden Studio I knew I needed to do a day 3.
The last day of our 3 Day Blush Styled Shoot Collaboration focused on invitations by Sarah Lane Design. It was just me on the third day. My husband made the comment, “you’re still doing this?” I had so much fun and couldn’t let the florals die before photographing everything I envisioned with the gorgeous blooms.
Karen and I decided we wanted to do more fun styled shoots together. Follow along on Instagram to see what we create. If you love these images, head to the reels on my Instagram @sarahbottaphotography to view 3 Tips for Styling Wedding Invitations.
Special thank you to all the vendors who made this fun collaboration possible!

Some wedding days stay with you not because of every detail, but because of how they felt. This sunny fall wedding at Rust Manor House in Leesburg was exactly that kind of day—calm, beautiful, and filled with so much heart. Rust Manor House was glowing in the autumn light, with crisp air, golden leaves, and […]

After a few weather-related reschedules, this year’s mini sessions finally came together on a truly perfect fall day. We photographed it at peak color, and just one week later the leaves […]

Starting the day photographing Meridith and Andrew’s engagement session in Winchester couldn’t have been more perfect. As the sun rose, a soft layer of fog rolled in, creating the dreamiest atmosphere and the most beautifully moody images. After having to reschedule because of rain, we decided to embrace the fog—and it added so much character […]

As they settled into life as a family of four (and wrapped up building their […]
