Last year before COVID seemed to be a thing, everyone was booked for the most popular wedding date of 2020 which was 10/10/2020. It seemed to have booked 2 years in advance because of its really neat date. In early 2020, Scott and Ashley reached out. We chatted over the phone and hit it off.
Shortly after the whole country shutdown and I don’t think any of us knew how long COVID would last. Fast forward through all the ups and downs of the year, Ashley and Scott were able to get married at Marriott Ranch with no person limit restrictions! Well, I think 250 was the limit but that was more than doable.
When couples book, I send them a questionnaire so I can begin to get to know them. Part of that questionnaire finding out their social media’s and begin following them. You can get to know a person, somewhat, through their social media. Once I started following Scott, I could immediately tell he had a funny sense of humor. So much of what he posted made me laugh at even before I realized who had posted it. The days leading up to their wedding, I could tell that he and Ashley would be really laid back and ready for a good time. I was totally right!! Ashley and Scott were very down to earth and had so much fun on their wedding day.
Before Ashley put on her wedding dress, she told me how she added lace from her mothers dress to it. She also added a navy blue heart inside from her lacrosse playing days at Shenandoah University which was her “something blue.” How unique and special is this!! I was so happy Ashley told me. I would have never known!! Little details like that I adore learning.
During the reception Scott’s best man sang a song and Scott’s step dad sang Louis Armstrong “What a Wonderful World.” I thought he was lip singing because it was SO good!! Someone told me that he was actually singing and I was literally blown away. Later on in the night I had to tell him how amazing it was! He has major talent and what a fun song to his at his step son’s wedding.
Their bridal party was hilarious and Ashley’s made of honor was one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I was in tears of laughter listening to her chat.
