This December wedding took place the week before Christmas. I fully expected it to be a typical cold December day but it was so warm I didn’t even need to wear a jacket!! The morning of their wedding my Timehop reminded me that exactly one year ago we had 8 inches of snow.
Lydia and Alex first met at church when they were in middle school. They started dating during their senior year of high school. Deep down Lydia always knew she was going to marry Alex. She knew that they were meant to be together. Fast forward through 6 years of dating, they got engaged and planned the most beautiful, intimate, December wedding at Trummer’s Restaurant in Clifton, Virginia.
Through the the toasts, everyone kept mentioning the same thing over and over. They all mentioned how perfect Lydia and Alex are together and how they bring out the best in each other.
Though the day was warm, we remained indoors for portraits. I love that Trummer’s has such a gorgeous space for ceremonies. Right after their wedding ceremony Stephanie owner of Diamond Events and her team transformed the room for the reception. You can view a time lapse of this on her Instagram. The reception was a candle lit relaxing event with toasts, tears, laughter, and of course a cake.
This wedding was such a gorgeous way to say farewell to weddings in 2021. I’m ready for rest and a fresh new beginning in 2022. Cheers to a wonderful year!

We photographed it at peak color, and just one week later the leaves […]

Starting the day photographing Meridith and Andrew’s engagement session in Winchester couldn’t have been more perfect. As the sun rose, a soft layer of fog rolled in, creating the dreamiest atmosphere and the most beautifully moody images. After having to reschedule because of rain, we decided to embrace the fog—and it added so much character […]
